Description
Yaay my first tutorial
This is my walkthrough for how I painted our friendly neighbor Scorpion...
Tools: PaintTool SAI, using Pencil, Marker and Blur tools.
Steps:
1 - Basic sketch + Black outlines, I try not to keep my lines perfect since I add them as I go.
2 - Base colours, make sure to add them under your lines.
*From here on every layer goes over your line layer*
3 - Small highlights to black clothing as well as adding basic shading to the skin (I use 2 different tones for shading). I also re-painted the yellow quilted part over the line layer and added lines for the quilts.
4 - I add a 2nd base colour to the gold armor as well as hightlights and some shadows.
5 - Add more highlights to the black clothing, add basic lighting to the yellow cloths (I used one colour for that, but for the less bright parts I just use the marker tool).
6 - Added more hightlights to the skin as well as yellow cloths and added the skull on the belt.
7 - Gave sharper highlights to the armor and added blu-ish tones for shading on the yellow quilts.
8 - Added studs and more lighting to the skin (i get very picky with the skin). Yumm donuts.
9 - Background
10 - Final touch-ups
Hope this can help

Oh, this is actually a great tutorial! I've seen a bunch of tutorials about "painting above the sketch" and somehow the whole process in them is not as easy to follow as with yours. Thanks for making it!
